Bonny Currie, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, surrounded by husband, Donald J. Currie and her family. Mrs. Currie was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 2, 1925, to Joseph and Mary Levine. She lived most of her life on Long Island, in her beloved Manhasset.
Bonny is survived by her husband Donald, son Jamie Levere and wife Lori, daughter Stacey Levere, stepchildren Don Currie and wife Michelle, Scott Currie and Heather Currie Wegge. She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren, Jenna and Jake Levere and step grandchildren Lauren, Katherine and Sarah Currie and Miranda Wegge.
Bonny was deeply loved by her many friends, family and extended family. She was fond of music, theatre and classic Hollywood films. She was a voracious reader of classic literature, biographies and fiction. The family has fond memories of her quick wit, indomitable spirit and her passion for philosophical debate. On any given Friday evening, she and her husband rarely missed an opportunity to dine at their favorite restaurant, Stresa. Her children, stepchildren, grandchildren and step grandchildren were the focus of her love and a source of great pride in her life. Bonny was the epitome of class, beauty and grace and will be deeply missed.
Bonny’s husband and family invite her many friends and family to celebrate her life at a small reception from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, 1570 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, New York, 11030.
