Ms. Voila was a teacher of mine at P.S. 100. I’m 27 years old now. I’ve thought of her often over the years and even used her name for silly security questions as “my favorite elementary school teacher”. I randomly decided to google her, just to say thank you...and her tribute page was the first link to appear. Ms. Voila changed my life at the age of 8 and I’m sorry I never had the chance to personally thank you. <3

Julie was a wonderful beautiful person who gave so much to a lot of people. I just loved Julie. I knew Julie when we taught together. Julie was a great teacher and an extremely nice person. Julie was giving, bright, intelligent and fun. It was a blessing to have known Julie. I had knowledge of Julie's illness since her initial diagnosis of her salivary gland tumor. I learned from a fellow teacher some time ago that Julie's cancer had spread. I cried. I spoke to Julie after I retired and thought about Julie often. I looked for Julie early this morning and so sadly found Julie's obituary. I am extremely sad and am crying to learn about Julie's passing. Beautiful, loving, giving, bright, vivacious, adorable, wonderful Julie rest in peace. Julie was a very special person, because she was always thinking of others and giving to others. Julie was always there to lend a helping hand to others. All of this came from Julie's heart. Julie had a heart of gold. I send my deepest sympathy to Julie's family.

Wow, this is unbelievable to me. I'm so hurt by this terrible news. Ms. Viola was my 1st grade teacher in the year of 1999 and I've always remembered her because of her personality and she always believed in her students. I was lucky to have Ms. Viola exam my son for his kindergarten placements in 2015. She was an amazing teacher and everyone loved her. She brighten up every room. It is so sad that this unfortunate event happened. May she rest in paradise like the angel that she always was. My deepest condolences to her family..

I used to be a student at PS 100Q and she was my Kindergarten teacher and knew her for 7 years. Back then, I'm going to tell you I was an idiot. Before, I would not even get 1 answer right on a test. But, after a parent/teacher conference with her, I started getting better and look at me now. I got into the Gateway classes 3 times, 2 of which were top classes and ARP 1 so far. Plus I have made a lot of friends because of her and I might be going to Highschool next year (Hunter College High School) and I'm on the waiting list for SCHOLAR'S ACADEMY.Heck, I even learned to ride a horse. All because of her. So, where ever you are Ms. Viola, I thank you.

Julie, for so long in my memory you were the cute curly-haired little girl wearing an over-sized Glen Burton Orchestra shirt that my dad gave you. Always so friendly, always so kind. I was blown away to have seen the beautiful woman you became at both our 20th High School Reunion and then when your family came to see the show a few years later. You were supposed to come again the next year, but had to cancel due to your health,and I so wish we were able to see each other again. I hope you've found peace and are no longer suffering.
