A GREAT man! I had the honor and the privilege of seeing Dr Fleming as a police officer. He was my assigned Police Surgeon. Absoluteky one of the
Most respectful, caring and smartest individuals I EVER have come in contact with. Few years ago - when I moved back to NY I tracked down Dr Fleming. After last speaking to Dr 23 years ago whom would have believed he would remember me. I opened conversation with you probably don't remember me... His first words were what do you think of the Rangers Tom. Then he shared you were the guy with the surgeries on both knees! I was in shock what a memory. He then added you always had a good attitude and would come with your dad or father in law. What I remember is YOU were a great family man whom was tough but compassionate! Whom was from the Hells Kitchen area of Manhattan and loved his faith family, friends and profession. Loved you sir - you compassion will never be forgotten! Always Rest in Peace

It is with sadness that I read about the passing of Robert. Robert and I were room mates during our first year in Grenada. We lived in the Flamboyant hotel on the hill above Grand Anse beach. We usually left the front door open and the local cow sometimes found its way into our living room.
It was a time of great challenge, of hope and of anticipation and ST. George's University gave many of us the opportunity to become fine physicians and have a positive effect on our patients, Robert certainly had that gift.
It has been many years since I last saw Robert but I am no less saddened by this loss and I wanted to take the opportunity to express my sympathies to you his family. It makes me wonder how important it is to reach out to those we think about before it is to late.
I know that the St George's family will always keep Robert in their prayers, I know I will. God Bless.

I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. His accomplishments professionally and his dedication to his family was astounding. I had the pleasure of being a classmate of Bob's from day one at Fordham through medical school at St George's. He will be missed.

Though it has been decades since I have seen Bob, I graduated SGSOM in '84 with clerkships at Coney Island and had a rotation at Booth Memorial Hospital during Internal Medicine residency, he left an indelible impression on me. I will always remember him with his dry wit and smiling eyes. He was one of the many successful pioneering graduates that reassured all of us that we had made the right choice in going to St. George's. Bob will be greatly missed. I would like to offer my sincere condolences the family.

I graduated with Bob from SGUSOM IN 1981 . At the time we and our classmates were trying very hard to live our dream of becoming doctors . We all persevered in spite of the high risk involved at the time and accomplished our goal . I lost track of Bob upon graduation . I know that he is an example of strength and character and desire to never give up on what is most important to oneself in order to achieve happiness and fulfillment in life . I am proud to have known him during our adventure in a third world country . May god bless him and may his family realize what strength and conviction he has had his entire life. One to be admired and deeply respected . MJNaber MD
