Frank, Jacquie and John ... please accept my most sincere sympathy on Bernadette's passing. I deeply regret being unable to attend the wake and services, but your Mom remains prominent in my thoughts. She was a dear friend of my parents and a prominent figure in my growing up. I remember her fondly as a kind,generous and very happy person who fed me a lot meals and who tolerated my mischief. I will never forget the fun-filled days at IBM Country Club beach, the sleepovers at Evelyn Road, the many wiffleball games in the back yard and, later, the fabulous times in the Romps' family pool. I also remember our fun family vacations together --- Miami Beach and the Baseball Hall of Fame among them. Through it all, Bern was there, having a great time, and just loving her life (she also had a great knack for spotting Perry Como in church!). Bern leaves behind a loving family and a legacy of kindness to which so many others can only aspire.
