I hope your mom remembers Philip Petrosky and I showing up unannounced to go out. Philip always had this big white car, and when he came to visit my parents, Philip and Frank DeFini lowered themselves in their seats and played loud Latin music. Thank you to your mom for being an inspiration to so many of us to go into education related fields!
I believe your mother loved the St. Mary's community and the education provided by the IHMs and the FMSs. Those were days back then that can never be repeated. We have much to be grateful to our parents for the opportunities they provided us with. They would be proud that we all turned out so well! They did their jobs as parents to give us roots and to give us wings, especially as I look at the Gallo family!
Our hearts journey with you as Chris recently lost his mother and my parents 18 and 20 years ago Patterns that you are used to change. The hardest for me was when I reached for the phone to call my mother each day. But you all have one another, and that is the strength in what I enjoy. This past weekend we celebrated our parents' birthdays (Sept. 13 and 18th) and went to their favorite restaurant in Manhattan. New traditions will arise as you seek to make them happen..
