Dr. Murphy was my elementary school principal and later school superintendent. I carried the most wonderful memories of West End Elementary School and Lynbrook Public Schools throughout my life. As someone who spent her entire career in human services, in addition to my own parents I have always acknowledged the foundation I received from a truly wonderful public education. I pray that the Murphy family can take comfort in their loss from the thousands and thousands of lights that Dr. Murphy lit in as many children he shepherded.
