Brian Sager posted a condolence

When I first learned of the passing of Tony, I was numb. I first met Tony as a teenager and was hired to work at Tom's Point Marina. Tony mentored and instilled a work ethic in me that has followed me all of my adult life. Tony was unique and a very special human being. While I no longer reside on Long Island on the occasions I visited I would stop by the Marina to see Tony. He had a huge impact on my life and I loved him, Helga and Natalie who was approximately 8 years old when I met her. He probably had me clean the Lady L more than anyone, and I shared many wonderful days on the sound with him, Helga and Natalie. Rest in peace Tony you left us "too soon". I will always think of you and remember your goodness, friendship and all that you brought to my life. Rest in Peace my friend, know that you made a difference. Brian Sager

When I first started to date my husband, one of the first people I met was Tony. Brian loved and respected Tony, and adored Natalie and Helga. Brian worked for Tony from High School through College. His knowledge of "boating/business" and work ethic was as a result of his experience and being mentored by Tony.
Tony was real/truthful/honest. There was no grey "he either loved you or politely ignored you". While my life has changed since I first met the Luccaro's the one thing that never will is my love for them. I am a better person for knowing Tony. My son Brian who is now 26 had his first boat experience on the Lady L. I love you Tony and will miss not running into you. Hopefully now that you are in the "Pearly Gates", you learned my name is really Marlene and not Joanne. Rest in peace my handsome friend. Know you made a huge difference in my life, and whenever I am on the sound sailing with my children I will look to the sky and remember you. As in the words of Nat King Cole your are "unforgettable". Rest in Peace and I will see you again. Much love always Marlene Sager
