so very sorry to hear of Pat's passing. She was my "guidance counselor " at St. Mary's when I was RICA catechumen, I learned a lot from her, and she was away willing to stay after class and answer any questions I had about the Catholic faith. She was by my side the entire year I studied to become a Catholic. May she rest in peace. She's an angel

Oh Tara,
I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Just the other day, I saw a picture you posted of her and your message "I love you Mom!" I thought how beautiful she still was.
I have so many memories of times spent in your house in Whitestone, always with the wonderful smell of your mom's cooking in the air.
I'm so sad for you, Deirdre and Phillip and your whole family for your loss but I'm so glad I have so many memories of time spent around your mom.
Love,
Lisa

My heart goes out to the family. I am so privileged to have known and been a small part of her life. I'm so glad I was able to see her somewhat recently and share one of her wonderful family dinners. Love to you all. Cia

“Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, Dissident”
Pat was truly a woman before her time. Born in the Bronx in 1927, she never let the limitations of the era hold her back. Active in the civil rights-fair housing committee, the League of Women Voters, and NYC government; she was a person who stood up. She stood up for women, for equal rights, for her family and friends, for herself, for truth. She was faithful to her God and spent years supporting and leading both the Voice of the Faithful and RCIA. She was a great friend and she loved her children so. It was not uncommon to come upon someone in the community who considered her a role model, and really what better role model could there be? She was someone who was fiercely passionate and had an opinion on everything. Her cooking rivaled that of top restaurants and none could quench her thirst for knowledge. To know Pat was to love her. She will be missed more than she could ever know. This loss will be felt deeply by her family, her friends, and the community. The world has lost a truly great woman and it is not often that we have the opportunity to meet someone such as Pat in our lifetime. Those who knew her will continue to carry her with us. Whenever we have a lively debate, cook a classic tomato sauce, or scoff at the idea of eating rice pudding we will think of her. And really this is what she would of wanted, for her family and friends to use even a small amount of what she taught us in our daily lives.
Thank you for coming today and helping us celebrate the life of the woman who was an inspiration to all of us.

Dear Phil and Marge,
What a beautiful tribute to your mother in law. We are very sorry for your loss. In my experience families oftentimes grow more cohesive after a cherished one passes. We wish this to be your silver lining.
Love,
Rich, Debbie and Melanie

Phil, my heart aches for your loss. I pray that the sadness last for only a short time and your family finds comfort in the gift of your mother's life. My condolances to all of your siblings and Nana's grandchildren.
