Frank, Dennis, Rob, and Timmy ( Looking down from Heaven ) and their families, As your wonderful Dad departs our world to join Timmy and Mrs. Coughlin up above a large piece of the town of Manhasset and the church of St. Mary's leaves with him. Mr. Coughlin was a tireless worker for the schools of St Mary's and the Parish. I always admired him so ( and your Mom ) for raising such fine young men who embodied all of the wonderful traits that made him so successful in business , coupled with being a wonderful friend to all. Mr. Coughlin always seemed to be giving back to the community, a community he loved so much. He always had a smile for me and seemed genuinely interested in what was going on in your life; not just because it was the appropriate thing to say. The Coughlin home was always so warm and inviting ; when visiting you felt like the fifth Coughlin boy. I will miss my chats with him , running into him at various spots around Manhasset. In my mind Mr. Coughlin had a very large role in making Manhasset into the town it has become. I am so grateful that I got to know this man for so long a period in my life. I will miss his smiling face and his gentle ways. Another angel enters Heaven ; may he rest in peace with The Lord. Bobby Anastasia

Dear Cousins, My earliest memory of your dad, circa 1955 was this very tall kind uncle who stooped down to eye level to say hello. He was often amused by what you had to say and never failed to remember your current grade. Later in my life, despite our infrequent visits back to the east coast and a large busy family of his own, he was interested in and remembered the names of our children and the current state we lived. Keeping track of this alone was no small feat as we moved quite a bit. After your mom died he connected with my sisters and me through the flowers he sent every Easter and the family events he attended. At these events he was patient with and even excited to answer the many questions I had about family in times past. I wish I had recorded those stories. I understand that this love and commitment to family came naturally to him and many of his generation but by today's standards it is an extraordinary act of consideration and love. Hopefully, these acts of kindness will help to inform my own role as aunt to my many nephews and nieces. I regret that I can not be there for the wake and funeral but send thoughts and prayers to all of you and your respective families. The deepest sympathy for your loss. Sincerely, Ellie and Rick
