I played football with Wally 30+ years ago in the Dwarf Giraffe league in Whitestone. That he was an excellent player, strong, quick on his feet and determined was well known in the community. I still have some of the press clippings. A few years ago, we reconnected on the playing fields at Manhasset where both of our kids were student athletes. I hadn't seen Wally in many years but he still had that big smile and warm, engaging manner. I was very sorry to hear of his untimely passing at mass today. I will always remember him as great athlete and a great guy. He will be missed.

The CasaNova family members have been wonderful friends to my daughter, Caton Dubensky, since she became friends with Christina. She often spoke very fondly of Wally and his warmth and personality. I am so sorry that he has died so suddenly. I hope it might comfort his loved ones to know that he will continue to be thought of fondly in my daughter's life and that his spirit has touched many and will continue to thrive. Wally was and is bigger than life. I remember as a high school senior meeting this little league football legend, just a sophomore but so confident and so charismatic. When he ran he was smooth but powerful and when we hung out he was the energy to which we gathered. He was so funny and never afraid to let you know what he was thinking. Fast forward to now, with my two boys in Chaminade playing the sports Wally loved - he was so excited my boys were there, so excited to see them play. I will always leave a spot in the bleachers between myself and Donnie, a spot reserved for my sons' biggest fan! Love you Wally and I love you Kathy and the girls for letting me spend Saturday afternoon's with Wally. He was and is so full of life and my family will carry such fond memories forever. He made us laugh and enjoy life, thank God I got to spend such a beautiful time of my life with him.

I have a very good friend out here in AZ. He is the type of guy that never talks bad about anyone. Always answers your questions truthful, even when it's not what u want to hear. A great family man and has a huge heart. He is the first person you call if u need something because you know he will be there for you. No questions asked. His name is john Haupt. So when i meet people like him, I always say to myself. He could be in the Haupt club. As you can imagine, very few people get an invite to this club. I strive but fall short most of the time. Wally could be the club president. He will be greatly missed. He is one of the good guys. God Bless.
