Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your sweet husband and father. I did not know of Billy's passing until now. Had I known I would have been at the services. I have so many happy memories of spending time with Billy as we grew up together in Maspeth. We were all very lucky to know him. May God bless him and take special care of him and all of you at this time of sorrow.

How often do you meet someone of whom there is nothing negative or ill, spoken of?
Certainly, not myself, but I can speak to one William P. McDonough, with whom I had the pleasure of knowing and working with, for many years, at Con-Edison.
Over this time, he has displayed a combination of professionalism, tact, virtue and kindness, to all of us at Con-Edison, and it stands to reason, anyone else he interacted with.
As co-workers, we sometimes don't appreciate how intertwined each of our personal affairs with each other. The hours, months, day and years at the job, create a virtual "second family".
The shared experiences of marriage, parenthood and outside social activities, enrich us all, and serve to inspire us to greater heights. We laugh and cry, hope and wonder, what mark we will leave.
To Bill's family, all I can say is that you were fortunate to have such an outstanding and dutiful husband, father and man. As you will undoubtedly miss him, as we will, it's important to recognize that God's Will has been done; Bill has served his life's mission, and we now are in a position to reflect and introspect, not only his life, but the lasting impact it will have on ours.
In closing, I want to express my heartfelt condolences to the entire McDonough family, and my prayers that you can find healing and solace, in the years to come.
