Obituary of Joseph C. Miranda

Joseph C. Miranda, Esq. of Manhasset, NY, born March 4, 1930, passed away on June 10, 2016. Beloved husband of 62 years to wife, Joan; father of Neal J. Miranda and Gail Miranda-Schmidt; father-in-law of Robert Schmidt; and grandfather of Lindsay and Adam Schmidt, and Melanie and Jackson Miranda. Joe attended Regis High School ('47) and Fordham College ('51), followed by a stint in the Navy in the Korean War earning the rank of lieutenant, after which he went on to attend Fordham University School of Law ('57). Joe practiced law for over 50 years, most significantly as Vice President & Senior Counsel to North American Philips Corporation and Assistant District Attorney, Nassau County. Joe was a lector at St. Mary's Church, most often spotted at the 7:30am mass. In his leisure time, he enjoyed his family especially on his boat, the " I LOVE NEW YORK " which he proudly piloted along the East Coast earning his un-grandfatherly moniker, "Cap'n Joe", with his soul mate, Joan, lovingly referred to by their grandchildren as "Chickie".
