Obituary of Mark I. Walsh

Mark I. Walsh, loving father of Gavin, Owen and Aidan, passed away on Tuesday, September 13th. Born in the Bronx in 1966, Mark lived the first year of his life in Yonkers, NY with his parents Michael Adrian and Catherine (both now deceased) and brothers Michael and John. In 1967 the family moved to Pelham Manor, NY, followed soon by the addition of sister Catherine Ann. After attending kindergarten locally at Siwanoy School (just down the road from the family home) Mark then attended elementary school for eight years at Iona Grammar School in New Rochelle, NY followed by four years of high school at Iona Preparatory School. After graduating four years later from Fairfield University in CT Mark began his career in computer programming and IT and spent time both home and abroad building his professional life. In 1994 Mark married Andrea Melfe of Port Washington, NY, where they settled and began to raise the three sons to whom he was devoted. Gavin is currently a junior at Ohio State University, Owen a freshman at Georgetown University and Aidan is a freshman at the local high school in Port Washington. Mark’s life was one of devotion to his family, availability to his friends and an openness to all he came in contact with. His lasting memory will be the lifelong impact he had on all those with whom he interacted.
