Obituary of Dominick F. Amoruso

Dominick(Dan)Amoruso, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday December 2 at the age of 87. Dan was born on October 23, 1929 in Flushing,NY. He graduated from Bayside High School and attended Hofstra University. Dan began his own heavy equipment business, Amoruso Contracting Co. in College Point , Queens where he served as President for over 50 years. Dan was a hardworking man whose life centered around his family. He married the love of his life, Anne Pace. They were married for 61 years. Together they raised three wonderful children, Danise Riley(Mark), Daniel Amoruso(Kristine) and Marissa Wilder(Douglas). "Papa" truly loved his eight grandchildren,Robert, Michael, Anne, Kelly, Daniel, Christopher, Nicholas and Joseph. Dan was a devoted member of St. Mary's Parish in Manhasset for over fifty-six years. He served as Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the Collection and Bishop's Appeal Committees. Dan was also an avid golfer and active member of North Hempstead Country Club for over four decades and treasured his many friends there. You will never find a better man.
