Dear Judith and family,
I was so saddened to learn about Bob's recent passing. Although he and I hadn't seen or spoken with each other for several years, going back to our high school and college days I will always remember Higs as a great athlete and good friend.
My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to all of you.
Sincerely,
Bill Bors

Obituary of Robert C. Higgins
Robert C. Higgins, 73, of Marco Island, FL, passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 3, 1943 in Park Ridge, NJ, Robert was the son of the late Charles and Nelsea Higgins and brother of Charleen Higgins of Naples Fl. Robert graduated from CW Post College in 1965, earning varsity letters in both Baseball and Football. Robert went on to marry his college sweetheart and CW Post graduate Judie Higgins ’65 and raised their three children Kimberly, Brett, and Todd in nearby Sands Point, NY.
Bob, as he was known, was a true giant of a man who will be remembered as a generous, thoughtful, and caring husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, grandfather, and friend. Bob, was most comfortable while surrounded by friends and family and there were very few things he enjoyed more than spending time with his 9 grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Fairchild Sons Funeral Chapel, 1570 Northern Blvd, Manhasset, New York, on Saturday, February 4th from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm, and Sunday, February 5th from 2-5pm. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 6th at 10 am at Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 1300 Northern Boulevard in Manhasset. Interment to immediately follow at Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, New York.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the American Heart Association, http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/, or a charity of your choice.

I had the opportunity to coach Bob's son Todd, while he was in High School. We will never forget what a gracious host Bob and his family was when inviting the team into their home. We also will never forget how supportive he was to the program and always offered any help when needed. Soon after when we opened a retail Sporting Goods Store, Bob was one of the first people at our door offering support and encouragement. He even provided some antique Sporting goods items that we could put on display in the store. It was words of encouragement from people like him that help keep us in business for over 27 years in Port Washington in a challenging retail environment.
Thank you Bob. Your generosity will never be forgotten and you will be greatly missed.
Rest in Peace.
