I was sorry to hear of your father's passing. I knew of him, although I had never met him, through his aunt Grace Begley. Mrs. Begley was so kind as to share Padre Pio's glove and Eddie's story with me when we met several years ago after I had relapsed for a second time to non hodgkins lymphoma. After my initial time of holding the glove and praying, Mrs. Begley and I were to meet several times. She shared many stories and prayers with me, as well as allowing me to bring people to her to touch the sacred relic and even in some cases of extreme emergency to take the glove and bring it to someone who was unable to come to her. After a while one of the deacons who worked closely with her came up with the idea of touching a handkerchief to the glove thereby making it a relic twice removed and using those handkerchiefs when he was unable to get the glove. When Mrs. Begley told me this idea I also went and got handkerchiefs, because many people were asking if they could hold the glove and I didn't always have access to it. I have sent handkerchiefs out to so many sick people, so that they may pray and ask for the intercession of Saint Pio for their crisis. So many stories came from this experience that I decided I should write a book. I have been writing on and off for years. Each time I put it down for a while I am called back to it. I recently found a note Mrs. Begley wrote to me in 2011 and she said that she hoped Padre Pio would keep me well so I could do his work here on earth. So I thought this morning as I was organizing my writing that I would reach out to your Dad and found that he had passed. Just wanted you to know his influence continues. May God bless you all.
