My condolences to Dick's family and prayers for God's comfort in your loss. Dick was a great guy and class president when I knew him at NMH, and I'm sure he grew even better over the years. It was good to re-connect with him at our 40th reunion.

Dick has been my remarkably good friend of 43 years since we worked at Citigroup and met in their employee tennis program. Dick excelled at Citi -- a rare career survivor of such a difficult journey. His hard work, intelligence, perseverance, excellence, good judgment, loyalty, modesty, integrity, and teamwork seemed the pillars of his strong success with Citi’s commercial lending and his own real estate investments. In any difficult situation, he had the wonderful ability to calmly consider challenges, find solutions, and see the bright sides. I’ll never forget when his nice sailboat suffered a mishap at dry-dock, and repairing it seemed a daunting setback among his other “Honey-do’s”. He confidently and simply said he would repair it -- No problem, Be Happy. Dick and I would talk about challenges, setbacks, and successes, and often enjoy chuckles and laughs. He was realistic and modest. Our friendship extended well beyond Citi and tennis, to visits and parties, esp. in the Hamptons. Sandy and Dick have both been very intelligent, interesting, entertaining, generous, and caring of their friends. My understanding is that they have been great parents and great citizens. I am very fortunate to have enjoyed such solid, long-lasting, and fulfilling friendship with Dick Linthicum. There’s a special place in heaven for such consistent and exemplary goodness and greatness. ‘My condolences to his family and other friends.

In memory of our beloved friend Dick. Your welcoming smile, warm hospitality, quick wit and willingness to help friends and family will be missed. Dick exemplified the "work hard, play hard" philosophy in life.

Our hearts are broken with Dick's passing. We pray that family and friends will have the strength to handle the difficult days ahead. Dick was one of a kind and will be badly missed. He was a great friend with a light heart and peerless sense of humor. I can hear him laughing now.
