Obituary of Patsy Curci

Please share a memory of Patsy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dad was born in Brooklyn in 1929 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He served as a cook for the officers during his Army days & loved to cook for the family whenever possible.  He also had a passion for painting, listening to opera, going fishing and hunting, playing golf, and relaxing with family at the beach house whenever possible.  On Sunday afternoons, you would find him watching a Mets game and drinking an ice cold Manhattan Special. He belonged to the Sons of Italy, Manhasset Bay Sportmans Club and worked at the Port Washington Post Office. But, nothing in this world made him happier than being surrounded by his family and especially his grandchildren.

Shortly after serving in the Army he met and married our Mom, Giuseppina (Pina), in Corato, Italy.  He brought his bride back to Brooklyn, NY to raise their family.  Mom passed in 1981, and Dad had to take over as both Mom and Dad, which he gladly did.  Later, he met Stella and was married to her for second half of his life.  He shared a wonderful life with Stella and our family grew to include her family too.  We will always be grateful to Stella for sharing much love, laughter, and companionship with our Dad.   And, for providing such patient and loving care to him until the very end.

Although, he lived in other places, he always considered Port Washington to be his home. He just loved our sea-side town. He will be laid to rest next to our Mom at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port Washington.

Rest In peace Dad.  Thank you for all that you have given us.  We will miss you terribly. We are comforted to know that you and Mom are together again and will forever be watching over us all from heaven.

--- Your loving children… Joe, Nancy, and Rosemarie
