James,
I can't believe I'm doing this. It still hasn't set in. It's been awhile since we spoke, but I feel an emptiness now that you're no longer part of this world. The night it happened I had a restless night of sleep. I was up every few hours, which is rare for me.
I have taken solace in reading some very nice messages from all who have known you and can see how much you meant to them and how much they appreciated you for you. We were very different and I'm sorry I couldn't always share your enthusiasm for the things you loved.
One thing we did share was a love for crystals. I've been wearing that amethyst bracelet you gave me. I hadn't worn it much, it was more of a decoration that I kept on top of my jewelry box. I felt it was too bold for my typical minimalist appearance. I decided that I need a little more 'James' in my life and have been wearing it proudly and receiving compliments.
I'm not religious, as you know, but I feel we had a spiritual connection that I hope will continue. I know there are plenty of others who require that connection more than me at this time. Just know that whenever you are ready, I'll be here.
