Obituary of Mary V. Oleske

MARY V. OLESKE 

Amityville, NY.  We are all saddened at the death of Mary V. (“Marie”) Oleske, who passed away peacefully at her home in Dominican Village in Amityville, NY on August 23, 2018 at the age of 90 years.  Marie was born on August 15, 1928 in New York, NY, the third child (of eight children) of Eugene and Nora Tierney.  She was married for 60 years to her childhood sweetheart, William F.X. Oleske (1928-2009).  She was the beloved mother of seven children, William, Jr., Michael, Mary Fatta, Angela Hovey (1955-1995), Elizabeth Teisch, Peter Oleske and Veronica Goodwin.  She is survived by thirteen grandchildren, Claire Edson and Helen Oleske (children of William, Jr. and Margaret Oleske), Timothy, Paul and Alexandra Oleske (children of Michael and Mary Oleske), Rosalie, Elizabeth and Matthew Fatta (children of Mary and Charles Fatta), Theresa Teisch (daughter of Elizabeth and Paul Teisch), Michael and Kasia Oleske (children of Peter and Krystyna Oleske), and Peter and Nora Goodwin (children of Veronica and James Goodwin).   

She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Archie Steven and Harry William Edson (children of Claire and Paul Edson), and by her beloved sister Veronica Hornby and her beloved brother John Tierney.  Marie lived in New York City, Rocky Point, NY, New Providence, NJ, Clearwater, FL and Amityville, NY.  Marie was a certified medical records transcriptionist at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY. 

The wake will be held at Fairchild Sons, Inc., 1570 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, NY 11030 on Wednesday August 29, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church at 1300 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, NY 11030 on Thursday August 30, 2018 at 11:15 am.  For further information, please call Fairchild Sons at 516-627-2000.
