I met Lt. Serrett only once, on a detail to L-144, around 1988. I remember talking to the guys and somebody mentioned that the Lt. in the Engine had played for the Yankees. Yea, and I'm Santa Claus. I guess I eventually approached the Lt. and a very memorable conversation began. I was in awe. The memories of that conversation are of him humbly saying that he was a 500 pitcher and my reply of, " Imagine you being a LEFTY 500 pitcher today ! ". He returned a BIG smile. That is my memory. The Smile and the conversation. My condolences to the Lt's family, Bob
