So very sorry to hear of Ray’s passing. Although I have not lived in Great Neck for decades we went to school together at JFK and Great Neck North Junior and Senior High Schools and my Dad would fill up at the gas station. I do remember his sense of humor and laugh. A nice guy. So very saddened at his loss.

There isn’t much I can add to the many sentiments about Ray. A gentleman’s gentleman. Proud husband and father. He answered the call to his community and in a dark day for America he did what he knew he had to, he took his community and his country first. A rare breed who dedicated his life to that which was bigger than himself. I was overwhelmed at the outpouring of the community when I visited at the firehouse. Our country and our great neck family was blessed to be in the presence of such a man. May god hold you tightly. Man of honor who set an example for us all. We’ll miss you my brother.

We had many great laughs and great times at concerts. To Donna, Tyler and Ryan, Ray is a fantastic person and you should know we will all miss him and we all looked up to him. Rest In Peace my friend

I didn’t know Ray personally but he sounds like a valiant, brave, generous and caring man I would have liked to have known. A model citizen I wish my boys had known. I cannot imagine the loss you feel right now as a family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

On a early Saturday morning I called Ray on his cell phone and told him that my carbon monoxide detector was going off in the kitchen but thought the outside generator exhaust may be blowing in through a window as it was very windy and I seemed to clear the signal by opening the window and doors. I asked if he could swing bye when he had a chance and take a look. Next thing I know I hear the sirens and Ray shows up in his truck along with a fire truck to assess the situation in a professional manner with like 4 fire fighters.
Another time I was driving my car in circles to mash down the snow in my front drive in a storm and guess what.............yes my car was stuck on a mound with all four wheels spinning. Again one call to Ray and he ran over to pull my car off the mound and while he was there he plowed my drive way. Ray is the most non self serving person I know.
