Obituary of Christine Kent

Christine Kent passed away peacefully at home in Sands Point, NY on December 12, 2018, at the age of 72.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Christine is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Dr. Harry Kent; daughters Caroline Kent and Robin Kent; son Brian Kent and his wife Brooke; beloved grandchildren Christiana and Harrison; sister Katharine Rubin; brothers Martin Fries and Philip Fries; sisters in law Dr. Jacqueline Fries and Christine Fries; mother in law Anne; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. She is pre-deceased by parents, Peter and Katharine Fries; and brothers Dr. Peter Fries and Dr. Frederick Fries.

Christine and Harry built a beautiful family and home together over their 48-year marriage, but they also worked hand in hand building many successful businesses. Many people didn’t know that Christine was often the one over the years correcting the lawyers’ work, correcting the accountants’ work, and sometimes even correcting Harry’s work! Their relationship was a true partnership in every sense.

But of all Christine’s successes and achievements, nothing made her happier than caring for, and spending time with, her children and the latest lights of her life, her grandchildren.

All who had the privilege of knowing Christine will always remember her beautiful smile, brilliant intellect, ready laugh, unwavering warmth, and devotion to her family, near and far. Truly one of a kind!

A memorial service in celebration of Christine’s life will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 9:30am at Fairchild & Sons Funeral Chapel in Manhasset, NY with burial to follow at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port Washington, NY.
