I had the great pleasure of having Maryellen as a very special friend. I have wonderful and funny memories of our trips to Niagra Fall, Fire Island, the Hamptons and a few overnights in NY. When I first heard of your mom's illness, I was so saddened. My dad passed away from from mesothelioma a few short years ago. I know she fought bravely and had her wonder family's support her throughout her battle. Much love and prayers today. I hope the memories of her, bring a smile to your faces today. Marty and family, There are no words. A very special light has gone out. For me, and I am sure for all others, to meet Mary Ellen was to fall in love. Caring, warm, and wickedly funny with a wonderful sense of humor. She and my long deceased bride, Kathy hit it off instantly. We were blessed with the company of wonderful women, Marty. Dear Marty and family - I can only imagine that Manhasset and Port are a bit quieter and darker since Saturday, when a wonderful, bright and shining light left you to go home to God. I am so sorry for your loss, but grateful that her years of suffering are over... and the clan in heaven grows and gathers to celebrate as we only dream of.
