My sister and I were in awe of our cousin “Jeannie” the only time we met her. It was at the Hayden family reunion at Big Lake, Washington. 1960’s. She was a dark beauty with manners we would never have...we were Country Bumpkins and she was poised, incredibly talented (as a seamstress at that time—she won national awards). We stayed in touch a few years. I so wish we would have stayed in touch longer so we could have shared growing up stories, parenting adventures. What an amazing Mom, wife, daughter, sister...so much more. Love, prayers and sincere sympathy to family for your loss, which I can’t imagine. Liz Hayden (Pat Hayden’s daughter)

I met Jean Marie over 30 years ago at the offices of Roe & Jim Roach in NY. I had not seen her for a very long time until I moved to Manhasset and saw her in Gino’s. I knew I met her before but could not recall. She knew immediately. We ran into each other from time time and I was sorry to hear that she passed away during mass today. My sincerest condolences to her family.

I was in Sean’s class at Juilliard. Before the first long weekend of our first year, Sean told us his parents wanted to invite our class out to their house for a party. When we arrived they had filled the house with food, wine, and something more intangible: the feeling of a happy family. Some of our class had never lived on the east coast before, and Jean made us feel like we had a mother out here, and a place that really felt like home. That night it started to snow hard, and kept it up through the night. We all stayed over, taking over the whole Parker house. In the morning, Jean had coffee and doughnuts for us. She talked to all of us about our lives, where we came from, what we hoped for. She was a natural mother—someone who made you feel safe, loved and seen. I feel so grateful to have been on the receiving end of just a little bit that love she shared so overflowingly. Thank you, Jean, for sharing your warmth with our class. You were a mother to all of us and we will never, ever forget you.

Aunt Jean, you are loved and missed beyond measure. I still remember our last conversation and your warm and engaging smile and how I loved listening to you talk about what you love - art. All these years later, i still hold a special place in my heart for the childhood Christmas memories you created for our family. I know that your light will shine down on Kerry, Sean and Uncle Steve for all the days to come - your imprint on the world is irreversible. I love you.
