I am so saddened to hear about my good friend Dominick’s demise. I last talked to him in 2018 and recently tried call and email with no success. It had been too long since we talked. Dominick was my friend from the army and we hung out together a lot. We went to movies together, talked about the books we liked, razzed each other, and talked smack about the other guys, all in good fun, as soldiers do. When I left the army in Berlin Germany I visited Dominick and his mother and father in Bensonhurst, New York. They welcomed me warmly and I got to visit the local Italian bakery and explore the city. It was a great New York experience. I only regret not having met Dominick’s older brother Vincent, a respected doctor in the New York area who Dominick looked up to. Belated condolences to him and other family. Dominick my friend and brother in arms, this life is short- too short for you. I will miss you very much but I have faith that you are with our Creator and in time I will be seeing you again when I depart from this earth. I send a prayer for you and your family. I apologize for not reaching out earlier. Just remember our good times at the Eiszeit theater, getting doner kebabs and all of the good times we had and know that you are important, and loved. Goodbye my friend, Owen

I’m so saddened to hear about Dominick’s passing. He was my math teacher back in high school trigonometry. Besides being an excellent teacher, as he went above and beyond at his work, he was also always so warm and caring. My heart goes out to his family.

When I first joined the French Conversation Group last Fall, I felt nervous and awkward, but Dominick made me feel welcome. And every time I saw him thereafter, his greeting was always warm and friendly. He added much to our French conversations, and was unfailingly helpful when one of us was struggling for a word or phrase. I guess what I'm saying is that he was a positive presence, a bright spot in a world sorely in need of brightness, a kindly counterweight to the negativity that surrounds us. And I feel as if my life, and the world, are made poorer by his absence. He will be missed by me and many others.

So sad to hear of Dominick's accident. He was such a Renaissance man. I admired his interest in languages and literature, and always enjoyed his conversation. We will miss him very much at the French Book Club.

My condolences to anyone affected by Dominick's death. I got to know him on just a few occasions at the Table Ronde and was taken in by his charm, his intelligence, his experience in life, and his mastery of the French language.

I always looked forward to seeing Dominick each week at our French group Meetup. The group won't be the same anymore without him. He always was patient and kind, it was really sad when I heard the news of what happened today.
I only knew Dominick for about a year, though he quickly became an important person and touched myself and others with his positivity and kindness. He's the kind of guy you meet and never forget, and I'll miss him very much.

We, a group of friends of Dominick in the Syracuse, NY area, just found out today, the 10th, that he passed. We had missed his expected appearances at breakfast and at a meetup for french conversation for the last two weeks. One of our number googled his name and found this. We're so sorry for your loss and we miss our friend. He'd just begun a new job and spoke well of it, teaching teens in legal trouble. He was commuting between work and his home in Oneida, which was a long trip.
He was a good friend, with wide and deep knowledge of the world. He was always interesting, always interested.

Awe..I remember everyday he'd say hello with a big welcoming smile. He was such a happy person and always asked how my day was and what I did over the weekend. Sad to hear he rlly is gone. It'll be different not seeing him around the school. He'd always help out other teachers with task and no matter what he had a smile. Rest easy♡ Yes we lost a great man but Heaven gained an angel. I hope his life was a good one and I hope he got alot of of his dreams accomplished. Unfortunately we cant bring him back to life but we have him in are hearts. He will be known for the smile he had and for the smiles he brought to others. You will be missed...

Dominick was one of the most caring, dedicated teachers I have had the pleasure of working with. He was one of the first people to arrive at work every morning; he always had a smile on his face even after an hour and a half commute. He was one of the last teachers to leave the building each night, always making sure everything was in order for the next day. He was always kind to every student, even ones who weren’t as kind to him. The world is a better place having been blessed with Dominick Leone! Rest In Peace Dominick.
