Obituary of Rose Tiscia
Rose Tiscia passed away on October 13, 2019 after a sudden illness, at the age of 92.
The daughter of Generoso and Assunta (Rafaele) DiGiso, she was born in Brooklyn and lived there all her life. Her husband, Frank Tiscia, passed away in 1990, her daughter, Cynthia Tiscia, in 1998.
She was strong and independent up until the day of her illness. She loved gardening, both indoors and out and had the greenest thumb--she would propagate plants and give them to anyone who wanted one and share seeds from her garden. She loved to cook and share her recipes. Her family was her heart, as evidenced by the fact that every tabletop, every wall,as well as her refrigerator, china cabinet and bookshelves displayed family photos.
She was a kind and gentle soul who will always be remembered for her love of family, her strength, her loving generous heart, her sense of humor, and the detailed stories she told of her family, past and present.
She will be forever missed by those she leaves behind; her daughter Maryanne and son-in-law Louis; grandchildren Julianne and her husband Chris, Christina and her husband David, and Genna and her husband Brian; great grandchildren Alexa, Emma, Adaline and Lucas; and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She touched the lives of all who met her, whether she encountered them briefly or on a regular basis, from her neighbors to the car service driver to the cashier at the grocery store. Her loving spirit will always be in our hearts.
