Albert S. Kitay Obituary
Albert S. Kitay, age 95, WWII veteran, of Port Washington, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2019. Beloved husband of Shirley for 73 years, loving father of Hermine and Martin, and proud grandfather of Adam, Jessica and Benjamin. Other survivors include sister-in-law, Doris; daughter-in-law, Gail; cousin-in-law, Susan; niece, Audrey; and great-niece, Heather. He had a long and successful career as a CPA and an auditor working for the federal government. An avid lover of games of all kinds, he loved playing cards and chess, especially with his adoring grandchildren. He was also a big sports fan (Mets, Jets, Knicks, tennis) and was himself an excellent handball player into his eighties. Known for his intelligence, he had many interests in life. He enjoyed plays and movies, read books and newspapers, and followed current events enthusiastically. Of all his many attributes, what stands out the most was his devotion to family. He always put his family before everything else in life and we hold that memory especially dear. We miss him already and will keep him in our hearts forever.
