Over 35 years ago, Mr. Craco recruited me to work as a summer associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher. It was the start of a wonderful and fulfilling career for me in international taxation that continues to this day. I will always be grateful to Mr. Craco for giving me the golden opportunity to work at a wonderful law firm and to develop my professional career. He was a real lawyer's lawyer and consummate professional. May he rest in peace.
With sincere condolences,
Virginia La Torre Jeker, J.D.

I worked with Lou for many years at Willkie Farr and considered him one of the finest lawyers, and men, I came in contact with. He was a peach of a guy, an old school gentleman of the type rarely found anymore. My sincerest condolences.

I was a brand new associate in 1972 and Louis A. Crack was THE litigation partner. His insistence on the best written work possible was a trait I absorbed and utilised throughout my own career as an AUSA and then later as a NY State court judge. I will always remember his kindness to me as well. He certainly was aware that I was other first female black associate but never made me feel any the less for it. I trust he will rest well after a life well lived.

Over the years Helen (now deceased) and I have spoken briefly with Louis and Betty , probably hundreds of times, at Louies Restaurant and around Town. I believe that Helen knew Betty from her work with the Manhasset Community School Association.
They were always so pleasant, he will be missed.

Seeing and visiting with Lou at the DeMatteis Center brought back old memories from the time we served together on the Board of Education. You will be missed. May you rest in peace.
