Obituary of Mary Nora Heavey

Noreen Heavey (nee Monaghan) of New York and formerly of Co. Leitrim Ireland passed away peacefully in her home on June 15th, 2020. Noreen was born to the late Jim and Lily Monaghan and spent her formative years in Adoon, Grovagh Co. Leitrim where she worked in textile manufacturing. In 1984 she married husband Frank Heavey and the couple emigrated to New York a few years later where they went on to raise their 4 children. Noreen is survived by her three sons, her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Noreen is predeceased by her husband Frank, and her daughter Emma; may she be reunited with both in the eternal and at true peace once again. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any consideration of tribute be made in the form of donations to the ALS Association of Greater New York in Noreen Heavey’s honor. Please visit www.als-ny.org.
