Obituary of Nancy L. McCloskey

Beloved wife, mother, and friend, Nancy McCloskey (née Ries) of New York City passed away peacefully on June 25, 2020 after a long illness. Born to Henry and Mary Ries, Nancy grew up in Astoria, Queens and Long Island. She attended Bayside High School, Queens College, and Hofstra University before pursuing a successful 33 year career with the New York City Public Schools, where she retired as an elementary school principal. She was married to James McCloskey (deceased 2004), had one son, Christopher, and was a resident of Manhasset before moving to Garden City. She loved gardening, cooking, and reading history books. Nancy is survived by her son and her brother Roger.
