Obituary of Joan F. Brown

Joan Martin Brown (1923-2020) Joan Martin Brown passed into the loving embrace of Jesus on 11/13/2020. A resident of Manhasset for over 55 years, formerly of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, she was the wife of Edward F. Brown, deceased, and mother of six, grandmother of fourteen, and great grandmother of ten. She is survived by her sister, Helen Hoar and her children and spouses, Stephen and June Brown, Regina and Robert O’Brien, Douglas and Susan Brown, Patricia and Daniel Connolly, Daniel Brown and Christopher and Kathleen Brown. She is predeceased by her sisters, Theresa Black and Sr. Mary Martin of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, her brother Judge Ronald Martin, daughters in law Anne Marie DeLeon Brown, and Susan Fearn Brown, and granddaughter Christine Regina Brown. In addition to being a loving mother and wife, she was a long-time school nurse at Buckley Country Day School. Always active in the Manhasset community she will be missed by many. She will be laid to rest with her loving husband at Holy Rood cemetery after a private family mass due to the Covid outbreak. The family would like to thank Hospice for the care and compassion they provided during her last days.
