Obituary of Anne Madigan

Anne Madigan, a lifelong resident of Manhasset, passed away on May 20, 2021, surrounded by family.

Anne attended St. Mary’s Schools from kindergarten through high school, graduating in 1964. She went on to graduate from Molloy College in 1968. Shortly after graduation, she began what would be a lifetime career at the Nassau County Department of Social Services, working in the foster care division.

Anne was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Madigan of Manhasset and is survived by her siblings Thomas Madigan (Elizabeth) of Wilmington, NC; Margaret Caulson (Frank) of Manhasset, NY; Maureen Ehnes (Fred), Muncie, IN; and Brenda Sorg (Jeff) of Port Washington, NY. She was the beloved aunt of Darcy Gelmin (Jeffrey), Deirdre Chaundy (Michael), Emily Sorg-Hazeltine (Stephen), and great aunt to Meghan Chaundy. Anne loved all creatures, great and small, most especially her late rescue dog, Jillian, and cats, Laurie and K.P.

The dedication, humility, and compassion that guided her life earned her the respect and love of family, friends, and colleagues. She will be greatly missed.
