My Dear Wife,
No Matter how much time we had to prepare for what we knew would happen, it's hard to believe the vacuum created since you were here just a short time ago.
We were lucky to have found each other -- and in our short time, to have shared the joys and sorrows of a lifetime. You made it easy for us to love you -- a bright smile to light up the room -- Never saying an unkind word about anyone. You made us all better people by just by being yourself. Always warm and giving -- caring more about others than yourself.
You cherished life and through all the pain, you were never angry but sad for the loss of what “could have been.” As the road got steeper you kept your faith in God and always reached inside to find the courage to make it look easy -- so it would be easier for us. You never lost your dignity -- always a beautiful and graceful woman.
You had a brilliant mind with math and words, loved jeopardy, wheel of future, sudoku, proof reading, always organized with lists and reminders but also very creative, a voracious reader with a love of all music.…but perhaps your greatest gift of all was your loving, gracious, infectious smile, positive attitude and compassion for everyone you met.
I knew from the moment I met you that I would love you. We rescued each other from much lesser lives alone. Reflecting on the hardships in our lives that lead up to us meeting you would recant the lyrics: “God bless the broken road that led me straight to you”. We spent the best years of our lives together -- a perfect match we were. Together we could accomplish things never even dreamed of on our own. We had the privilege to share honest, unwavering and unconditional love for 24 years.
Your love of family and children was rewarded with Douglas and Grace. You nurtured two beautiful, balanced, caring children we can be proud of. You made us what we are and you will always be part of us -- the best part.
I know you will help us find the same inner strength you had, to go on without you. We have the best of family and friends, and they will be at our sides.
Your work here is done, and you can finally rest. The pain is gone but the precious memories and joys will live and grow in us always. I am so, so, proud of you -- I will always love and respect you.
You were a beautiful woman but an even more beautiful person. You hand wrote on the top of every page in the notebook you gave me for Christmas to “Always remember how much I love you !” …we will remember, and we will always love you !
Godspeed until we meet again, your loving husband,
Doug

Be there for each other, go easy on and be gentle with yourselves as you wrk thru this. And remember why we have tear ducts!! Still your brother in law, Love and prayer for all of you.!!

Eventhough we are separated by distances and time zones, Mary Jayne would be the first to greet us if no time had passed at all. She was never seen to be unhappy. What an amazing kid who grew into such a beautiful incredible woman. Her family can take comfort in that there is so much love and support from family and friends.

We are so saddened to hear the news of Mary Jane's passing. She (and Doug) were wonderful parents and supporters of the Manhasset High Crew team. Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes, we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.

Dear Doug, Douglas, and Grace,
Mary Jayne is someone who is truly impossible to describe in words. Her presence alone is something that would illuminate any room she walked in. Along with her humor, compassion, and graceful nature, she was someone who made others feel inherently welcomed and more importantly, recognized. Such a strong and unique quality I can only hope to try to carry on in her memory.
Ever since I was a little boy, I had the pleasure of knowing Mary Jayne as my “Aunt Moj”. She had an uncanny ability to make me, and countless others, smile. That paired with her ability to make others feel at-ease through her contagious laugh simply made you want to stay around her as long as you possibly could. You could truly feel her love for you – a feeling I will never let go of.
When looking back on my time with her, what stands out to me as the most beautiful part of Aunt Moj’s was her spirit. Not only was she a truly authentic and warm person, but Aunt Moj had a way of showing how she genuinely cared about others and how life was treating them - the world could be throwing a firestorm at her and you would never know. She was a stoic, noble and selfless individual, someone I will always continue to admire.
With Aunt Moj’s passing, the world will undoubtedly be a dimmer place but her impact on others will continue to shine through for years to come.
Love Love,
Brian

Dear Doug, Douglas, Grace and family, Our thoughts, prayers and most heartfelt sympathies are with you during this difficult time. Mary Jayne was such a special person - warm, friendly and oh so funny! Her quick wit always amazed me and she always kept her ‘peeps’ laughing and smiling. I have many memories of a beautiful friend - from our initial meeting almost 20 years ago chasing our toddlers at the library, to passing hours on the sidelines of soccer games, to commiserating on life with teens/young adults - all of which she approached with her trademark strength and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed. May she Rest In Peace eternally.
