Obituary of Alma Mary Cerick

Alma Mary Cerick passed away peacefully on July 26, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, after a lifetime of bestowing love and kindness to all who knew and were fortunate enough to meet her.

Alma was born July 15, 1928 in Manhattan to Joseph and  Helen Barton and grew up and attended school there before meeting her sweetheart and husband of sixty years, Mike, who passed away in 2009.

Alma and Mike bought up their family in Manhasset and gave much to their community during their lives.

Alma was blessed with six children- Kathy, Michael, Richard, Kenneth, Lisa and John- and fourteen grandchildren.  All who knew her fell in love with her sweetness and caring nature through good times and bad.

After bringing up her children, she embarked on a madical career, working for several Manhasset doctors and making countless lifelong friends in the process.

Alma believed in caring for and making others lives better.  She always put others before herself. She taught her children and grandchildren more about love and kindness than anyone in their lives and did so with grace and an ever-present, beautiful smile.

Farewell Mom and Nana.   We will miss you terribly but we will never forget you.
