I taught Ryan for two years at MMS. I called him the "Kiess kid." to know Ryan is truly to love him. He was vey humble, benevolent, had a great smile and was simply wonderful. I also taught his sister Nicole, another amazing Kiess. I cannot express my sorrow and sadness at this time. I cannot imagine losing a child and more so a person so bright, handsome and of a great character. Mrs. Kiess' smile and loving nature is certainly expressed by her kids. My wife also had the great pleasure of knowing Mrs. Kiess, and my wife feels this loss as we all do. To the beautiful Kiess family: we love you, a big hug and kiss--please embrace the many fond memories of these three unique and beautiful guys--we shall always keep them very close to our hearts. I love you "Kiess KId." I know you will be close to your family in spirit. Abraccio forte/ big hug, Michael and Lida Ruiz

Dear Nina and Kurt,
We are profoundly sorry for the loss of Ryan. We were fortunate to have spent time with you all during his last hours. During those hours we couldn't help but notice what a happy and kind gentleman Ryan was. We thought he was such a great combination of both of you. That day, we observed a man enjoying his family, hugging his Brianna and then dancing and laughing on the deck along with the older adults while Brianna was playing around with the music. Everyone was smiling, laughing , just happy. It was such a wonderful night, I hope you all find comfort in some way knowing his last day here was a great one. I imagine when Jesus stretched his loving arms to carry Ryan home , the dancing continued as he saw all of his loved ones that have been missed. We couldn't help but think that Ryan had the best day with his family and friends , a final and joyful taste of Heaven on Earth and then moving on to eternal joy with our Lord where joy and peace will never end. Someday you will dance , laugh and celebrate with Ryan again. We were so grateful to have met him. We are here for you and will continue to pray for you all. We love you! Sue and Jerry

Long Island, New York is a large community. Yet everyone seems to know someone who lives here. We didn't have the pleasure of knowing Ryan, James, Michael and Brianna personally. I can tell you we are heartsick, for the young lives lost for the family left behind. It is our hope Brianna recovers from her injuries. Our prayers for perseverance and strength in the days to come.
