Dear Grandma,
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas in Heaven. It's very sad you aren't here with us today. Christmas will never be the same without you. I will always cherish the many Christmases we spent together. I hope you are at peace and enjoying today with my grandfather and many others who you haven't seen in a very long time. There will come a day when you and I reunite and celebrate Christmas together again. Until then, Merry Christmas, Grandma! I love you now and forever.
With hugs and kisses,
Matthew

Edna,
Your strong determination and sense of independence was only second to your love for life and family. You lived a long, joyous life the way you wanted it, an inspiration for all of us. Now you are reunited with your husband George, sisters and other loved ones in heaven. I might have poked fun at you at times for your love of junk food, but obviously you must have done something right. You’ll will be missed by all of us.
Your loving son-in-law,
Gene

To my loving Mom,
I somehow believed you would live forever. I knew it was impossible, but every time we celebrated a new plateau (99 years…100 years….101 years) I always looked forward to the next year. We created such wonderful memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Whether it was our escapades in Russia, Egypt, Israel or Hong Kong, or our family trips to Woodloch, Florida, or cruising to various ports, we always had a wonderful time.
After Dad died, you re-entered the workforce while raising a child as a single mother. You were remarkable and amazing. Your hard work, strength and independence have always been an inspiration to me.
Every evening we would close the day with a phone call. I will end this message in the same way I ended our phone call: “Good night, Ma. Get a good night’s sleep and I’ll talk to you in the morning”.
Rest In Peace, Ma. I love you.
Kisses to Dad and the rest of the family.
Until we meet again,
Love
Jackie

Jackie, Gene and Matthew,
We are so sorry for your loss. I remember your mom as such a central part of your lives as our kids were growing up. She was there for birthday parties, play dates and other events. She was such a warm and devoted mom/grandmother.
I will also always remember that story of her hanging out with her “girl” friends and the 91 year old driver who was pulled over after drinking two glasses of wine. You then had to give your 97 year-old mom the same speech we give our kids. Xoxo Lisa and Myles.
