I remember many times your mom trying to wake you up in the afternoon when I would stop by. Most of the time she was unsuccessful. She was always so nice to me.

The first time meeting your mom,
It is now our junior year in high school. Mark and I have been school friends for a number of years now since seventh grade. Summers would come and go and we would pick up where we left off when we return to school the following year. That changed when we received our drivers licenses and started driving…. This brings me to the first time I met your mom, whom we warmly referred to as Mrs. Smith. I remember driving to your house that sunny summer afternoon wondering, who would answer the door. Would it be your brothers Eric or Sean, whom I hadn’t met yet but heard so much about… what would I say? Or would it be your parents… I hope I look okay. I just had a funny feeling it wasn’t going to be you…. Well I was right it wasn’t you. Your mom answered the door… She looked at me and said, “You must be Andre”with the brightest smile and warmest tone. Her gracious demeanor and Irish accent just put a smile on my face and made me feel at ease.
I knew instantly that she was a sincere, genuine person that looked at me, not as someone different, but just as a friend of her son. I will never forget that day. Over the years she has become like a second mom to me. Always steering us in the right direction. Its been more than 40 years now and I can say, your mom has been as constant as the North Star. She always made me feel like one of the family and that her home was my home away from home.. She always made your home so warm and inviting to me. I can not thank her enough for that. I will never forget her. She will always be a very special person to me.
