Please accept my heartfelt condolences to the D'Alonzo Family. Unfortunately, I’m just now learning of Augustine’s passing. Our families were close friends. There was even a time when I worked with Augie at his business on Harbor Road. First selling Christmas trees and then actually doing the real work and working real hard. Augie was always a gentleman with an inviting smile with a twinkle in his eyes. He knew how to run his business and I felt honored to have worked hard, but learned a great deal from him. We also did a lot of snow plowing together back in the good old days! I know he’s missed. May his memory live on through his family and friends. May your family be blessed with good health and happy moments.

20 years after leaving Port Washington Cow Bay Workers appear in my local bodega on 136th and Lenox Avenue with the statement “What an incredibly nice family to work for.” Two education Masters Degrees, two teaching certificates and many years of dealing with parents later I’ve yet to encounter a father as outstanding as Mr. D’Alonzo. He did a great job - 5 times. - Beth Dorgan
