I was so sad to learn this evening that Lyman (Lymie to me since forever) had passed away this past Wednesday. He and Carolee were always such good friends to Bill and me. And I was so happy that he found Isabel after Carolee died. He certainly had the knack of finding a good woman!
But what a wonderful friend he was! For many years he and Carolee would spend New Year’s Eve with us, and it was always a hoot. The jokes never stopped coming! I’ll never forget one time they came for dinner, and we all imbibed a little more than we should have. The next day being a Sunday, Bill dressed for church and when he went to put his jacket on it absolutely enveloped him. Lymie had actually put on Bill’s jacket and driven home in it! How he managed to that without realizing it was the wrong jacket has always been a puzzle and something we laughed about for years.
After moving to Virginia and then Kentucky I always tried to get together with Lymie and Isabel whenever I visited my son who lives on the Island. I wish we could have done that more often.
My deepest condolences go out to his girls who he loved immeasurably. Thank you to Kimberly for trying to contact me and leaving a voicemail. You all are in my thoughts and prayers as I know he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
