I was so heartbroken to hear this. I did house keeping for Bruce in fire island for 30 years and he was like a friend always. Always welcoming always laughing and happy. He had dinner with my husband and I many times and met my father and my dad loved him also!! He would always ask how’s my buddy Bruce doing! Just the type of person that everyone love! Many fond thoughts And memories of Bruce he will be missed! My condolences to his mom and sisters. I met his mom once and she was such a sweet lady. I’ve heard many stories of his mom and his aunt! He loved them so much could just feel it. So sad I will miss Bruce.

Bruce was both a wonderful friend and a colleague of mine for the 11 years I was at the mayors office. My husband and I shared many fun times with him on Fire Island and unbelievably the last time we saw him he seems so vibrant and healthy. It was less than three weeks before this tragedy. Heres my last wonderful time with Bruce and his three closest friends in the Pines

Bruce will be missed by so many; my sincere condolences to his friends and family. he was an unsung hero, the man behind the NYC mayor for 35 years, the impeccable, trustworthy, brilliant, handsome, Personnel Director. I have fond memories of spending a delightful weekend with him and his family, recently, he was a funny, personable host & made perfect gin & tonics! It is so sad that his life ended too soon.
