Obituary of Anthony Francis Bascone
Anthony Bascone passed away on October 17, 2022, after an unabated and enduring battle against ALS.
Anthony was the most amazing, loving, hardworking, thoughtful and determined man. His wife and daughters were his priority, he loved them unconditionally. He would climb mountains for them to make them happy.
He was passionate about teaching. He worked as a Math teacher at Queens Technical High School, an adjunct professor at Nassau Community and always worked summer school. He never complained once about his job. He worked all the way up until the very end.
Anthony never showed weakness, he loved living his life to the fullest. Among his passions was cycling, where he explored Long Island and Martha’s Vineyard. His 50-100 mile-treks began at 4AM, and he was home by 9AM, for the day’s events.
Anthony always craved knowledge. Most of everything fascinated him, he loved to know about people and shared life experiences with them. He shared his newly acquired knowledge from podcasts and reading with family and friends. As his condition worsened, Anthony’s drive, which brought him much success in life, never waivering, he refocused on family. Through pain and complications, he never spoke of, his sole focus, till the end, was Valentina, Laila and Serayna.
