I first met Pat Edwards when I joined the Board of Hospice Care Network after being involved with the organization dating back to 1992. Pat was always so nice, poised, friendly and I had a connection I became aware of because he lived in the same neighborhood in Manhasset that my wife Christine grew up in. He was also an extremely gifted leader and did an amazing job as Hospice's Board Chair - especially with his connections at the Northwell Health System who we eventually joined over 10 years ago. It was also Pat who approached me with the CEO of Hospice to request (insist!) that I take over as Chairman after his term was over. After some good cajoling at the landmark Diner my fate was sealed. I am still the Chair of their Advisory Board so I have Pat to thank for that!
I was very sad to hear the news of his passing - he was well liked by all who knew him as well as very respected for his keen insight and knowledge on a whole host of subjects. My condolences to his wife and the entire Edwards family.
