Obituary of Isabel M. Derian

Isabel (Chadrjian) Derian died peacefully on November 29, 2022, one month past her 100th birthday. Beloved wife of Albert, and devoted sister to brothers Mitchell and Jack Chadrjian, all of whom predeceased her. Loving mother to Gregory Derian, Michael Derian (Laurie), and Barbara Derian (Richard DeMartino); proud grandmother to James and Christopher Derian, Alexandra, Elias, and Sebastian Derian, and Emily and Alison DeMartino; and enthusiastic great-grandmother to Lyra DeMartino. Though, born in Olean, New York, and longtime resident of Port Washington and Ballston Lake, New York, Isabel saw herself as a girl from the Bronx who made good. She leaves a legacy of a thousand big and little kindnesses sprinkled about through her years of work as a pattern maker, and as a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and volunteer in service to her religious and secular communities. Witty, sharp, and engaging, Isabel was quick to offer a sympathetic ear, gentle advice, compassion, empathy, and kind spirit to all she happened upon. She will be greatly missed by her large extended family and friends of all ages.
