Obituary of Felix G. Andrews

Felix G. Andrews passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023. He is
survived by his beloved wife, Jean; five children Mark (Elizabeth)
Andrews of MD, Glenn (Cynthia) Andrews of N. Massapequa, Jeanmarie
Andrews of Bayside, John (Gabriella) Andrews of FL and Carolyn (John)
Karkosiak of OH; ten grandchildren: Chelsea, Jessica, Megan, Carly,
John, Andrew, Katherine, John, Joseph and Cecilia; sister Elaine Lilli
of West Hempstead; and ten nieces and nephews.
A long-time resident of Manhasset, Felix graduated from Chaminade H.S.
and Dayton University, then completed a tour in Korea with the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers. He returned stateside to begin his career as a
Professional Civil Engineer, earned his Masters of Civil Engineering
from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, eventually becoming Commissioner
of Public Works for the Town of North Hempstead. Later, Felix and Jean
moved to Saudi Arabia where Felix served as Co-Director of Public Works
in Yanbu Al Sinaiya. He continued his career state-side as a forensic
engineer until retirement.
Felix was a member of The American Legion Post 304, Knights of Columbus,
and former long-time member of the Port Washington Yacht Club.
