Obituary of Eleanor Mueller
Please share a memory of Eleanor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sorrow that Roberta and Suzanne Mueller share the news of the death of their beloved mother, Eleanor – Ellie to those who knew and loved her. We miss her more than we can comprehend but are glad that her suffering is over and that she was able to die at home as she wished, with both of us there. She was a strong, inspiring woman - the term "force of nature" has been used more than once to describe her. She was a talented pianist (and, for a while, cellist), and a loving daughter to the late Ethel and James Gilbert, devoted wife of over 40 years to the late Ernest Mueller, whom she described as her best friend, and loving mother to Roberta and Suzanne and grandmother to Roberta’s son, Jose.
Mom had wide-ranging interests and talents, and devoted friends in all of her spheres of activity. After falling in love with Brazil while traveling there with our father, she became fluent in Portuguese and studied classic Brazilian literature. In more recent years, she became active in Pilates and ballet. And, anyone who knew her knew that she was a passionate advocate for animals from a young age, and over the years, her dogs Dusty and Max and cats Fluffy and Beauty lived enviable lives thanks to her love and care, as did her horses Andiamo, Rio, Tommy, and, finally, Partner.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of the following charities:
