Obituary of George Pavlides

George Pavlides, 87, of North Hills New York, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.
George was born on April 4, 1935 to Anna and Nicolas in Brooklyn, New York. After George graduated from Jamaica High School in 1953 he went to St. John’s University on a pole vaulting scholarship where he set many records.
In 1957, George met the love of his life, Patricia Roszler, through a mutual friend. George and Pat have three children, Greg, Deirdre and Kasandra. He was a loving father-in-law to Denise Pavlides and Richard Spalding. Most importantly, he was a beloved Papou to Jessica, Matthew, Aidan, Ryan, George, Thomas and Anna.
Throughout his life George enjoyed many sports but in more recent years became an avid golfer.
George was predeceased by his mother, father and older brother Chris. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, older brother Paul and a large extended family.
Services will be held at 10:00am St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church in Hempstead, NY on Friday, March 17th
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organisation George felt strongly about. www.t2t.org
