Obituary of Ida Mugurusa
Ida Mugurusa of Great Neck, New York passed into eternal peace on March 29th 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.
Ida was a devoted wife, loving mother, affectionate grandmother, and loyal friend. She was born on April 3rd, 1947 in Mondragone Italy and grew up in Buenos Aires Argentina, where she married her husband Hector. Ida went on to have five children with Hector and seven grandchildren.
Ida was an amazing chef who drew the family together to bask in the warmth of her heart and enjoy her home cooked Italian meals. Her children and grandchildren will always remember getting together to savor nonna's famous pizza and watch the ball drop on New Years eve.
Ida was an avid reader, a talented storyteller, and ocassionally an amateur comedian. She could captivate an audience for hours with stories about her rich life, including the romance that brought her parents together in the old country, her journey from Argentina to the United States, building a business and family together with Hector, and the occasional dirty joke that made her children laugh and daughters in-law blush.
Ida accepted everyone into her home with open arms and an open heart and the love she gave will live on forever.
Ida is survived by her lifelong companion Hector, her five children Angela, Patricia, Laura, Hector Jr., and Diego, her stepson Gregory, her seven grandchildren David, Kevin, Roxanna, Xavier, Juliet, Lionel, and Vivian, her brothers Miguel and Fazio, her sister Catalina, and many more nephews, nieces, and relatives. She is pre-deceased by her father Vicente, her mother Angela, and her sister Maria.
