I knew Richard through his sister Cindy. He was an amazing guy - always laid back and happy. We hit it off immediately. I always looked forward to seeing him at the get togethers. At the home parties he used to love to select the music and had an uncanny knack for choosing songs that we all loved. We really could talk about anything in life too. His gentle loving nature and friendliness is how I will always remember him. Rest in peace my friend - we will miss you dearly. Love and support to the entire family.

Truth be told, the finality of death makes you realize the fragility of life. For the years I knew Richard, he was a fighter. He is an example of how to push your problems aside and enjoy the moment. I know he would want all who are saddened by his passing to take a moment and appreciate living. I often use his struggle to push through difficult times.
I will truly miss his presence and sense of humor. Even under the most stressful situations, he could lighten the mood with his magnetic personality.
To his family, I am heartbroken for your loss but am comforted he no longer is enduring pain and struggle.
Although, he was taken to soon, his footprint on our lives will be forever remembered.

Rich and I started at Prager and Fenton at the same time. We shared an office and became immediate friends. We always bounced business ideas off each other. He was a great guy. Smart, funny and hard working. Gone way too soon but at least he's no longer in pain. Rest In Peace my friend.

Adrienne, I’m so terribly sorry to hear of Richard’s passing- from the time he was born I will always remember Richard as a hard working, industrious, funny, dependable person- (I remember hearing about him and his successful newspaper delivery business when he was so young) I always knew him as a guy who loved playing hockey and rooted for the same teams as me. I will now always root harder for those teams and will think of him with each win. My deepest sympathies to Carolyn and Jason and you and of course to Sheldon and Nancy, Cindy and Laura and everyone in the family and to all those who knew Richard because I just know he meant so much to and was depended on by all who knew him. All my love, Cousin Lee

I met Richard when he was at Cohn Reznick. When he left that firm, I was happy to move our account with him; he was a good advocate for us, a straight shooter, a funny guy, a Renaissance Man in the accounting profession . He would stop in my office periodically, we'd sit and chat, and it was always an enjoyable and friendly occasion. It was great to hear about his kids adventures, his accomplishments in sports, and how he saw the issues we were facing. It came as a shock to learn that he had beaten cancer in the past, and then that he would be facing it again. He did so with courage and determination that set an inspiring example.
He will be missed - by everyone who knew him, by his associates, and by those of us fortunate to have been his clients. He was a rare talent, and a rarer man. Godspeed.

Rich was a really special guy. He started as a boss but soon became a great friend. We shared many good times due to our love of music, food and baseball. We laughed together so much! How he handled himself through difficult times was truly inspiring. He never acted sorry for himself - he just carried on. I owe him so much in my life. I miss him terribly already. My heart is with his beautiful family. May his memory be a blessing.

Richard was the definition of a Mensch. He was kind hearted and such a positive person. He always impressed me with his attitude in the most difficult times and his ability to keep going even when things were incredibly difficult for him. In our family, we shared many happy occasions growing up and often joked with one another about our struggles understanding that it’s good to able to do that and smile through it all. We had great fun talking about the Rangers and the Jets and laughing about the chairs in front of the t.v. watching the games. Richard was someone I did not see every day but I could pick up the phone to call him and there was such an ease to speaking with him and feeling like no time passed at all. I feel blessed to have him for my cousin and I love him dearly and always will. I send all my love to Caroline, Jason, Adrienne and my dearest cousins Sheldon, Nancy, Cindy and Laura Ann. May his memory be a blessing and may he rest in peace.
Love,
Lisa, Mark, Ryan & Shaun Devlin

I really enjoyed getting to know Richard and working for him the past 5 years. We often talked about music, which I know was a great passion of his. I know he also loved his hockey and baseball, and of course food! As an office we had many many meals together. Rich always had a joke to crack and he was always making me laugh. I enjoyed listening to his stories about his life and I will really miss our chats. He accomplished a great deal in his life and I looked forward to hearing the stories he had to tell. He provided me with advice and guidance in many milestones of my life like getting married and buying our first home. He fought so hard and I always gave him so much credit for his strength and levity in the face of such a disease. He came to work almost every day despite his illness and was always so happy to be here. We will miss you Richard, I hope you are finally at peace. Sending my deepest condolences to the whole family during this incredibly difficult time.
Love, Dylan
