Obituary of Katherine Lynch

Lynch Katherine "Kay" nee Dolson. 

With heavy hearts, yet celebrating her joyous life, Mom passed away on 8/14/23 peacefully in her home, surrounded by tons of love. 

Mom turned the unbelievable age of 100 years on 6/25/23, living life as a shining example of love with her brilliant mind and was the Matriarch, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother of over 60 people, adoring her beautiful spirit. A St. John's University graduate in 1983, cum laude, at age 58, member of Who's Who, devout Catholic parishioner for over 70 years at St. Peter of Alcantara Church Port Washington, recipient of St. Agnes Medal of Service, she served 40+ Years volunteering at St. Francis Hospital including serving as Guild President and Eucharistic Minister along with being a founding member of The Immaculate Heart of Mary League at Our Lady of Grace, Manhasset. She also was the premier, perennial seller of raffles for the Chaminade Golf Outing. 

She will be dearly missed by her 5 children and spouses, 15 grandchildren and spouses, and 20 great-grandchildren plus 3 more due soon.  

Mom was the ever loving, encouraging wife of the late Jim Lynch for over 60 years. She was bigger than life, the heart and soul of the family and community, full of energy, wit, playfulness, organizing and leading Memorial Day Parades, Christmas Parties, Welcoming & Farewell Parties for Friends, Priests and IHM Sisters, selling raffles for St. Francis Hospital, sending daily charming emails, and entertaining households of family and friends with her engaging, inspirational, warm, and endearing personality.
